bullet The Bluma Appel Theatre in Toronto present the first Canadian production of THE ARSONISTS by Max Frisch in a translation by Alistair Beaton. This wildly funny political farce stars two of Canada’s favourite actors, Michael Ball and Fiona Reid and Toronto-based songwriter and musician Justin Rutledge will compose original music for the production. The production will be directed by Morris Panych with set design by Ken MacDonald and will run from 11th November - 9th December. (6 FEBRUARY 2012)

bullet A new production of Alistair Beaton’s satire on modern politics, FEELGOOD, is to be performed at the OLD SCHAUSPIELHAUS Theatre in Stuttgart, Germany, during May and June. The production, directed by Manfred Langner, will open on 3rd May and run until 9th June. (1 FEBRUARY 2012)

bullet Alistair Beaton has been commissioned by Channel 4 / The Comedy Unit to write an original film about the break-up of the the United Kingdom. Set in the near future, it paints the picture of what Scotland might (or might not) look like as an independent nation. Production is scheduled for the summer of 2012. (20 JANUARY 2012)

bullet Alistair Beaton's Radio comedy satire set in the world of modern newspapers is currently running on Friday mornings on Radio 4. At the heart of the comedy is the relationship between Maddox Bradley (played by John Sessions), a journalist who mourns the day of proper investigative journalism, and Freddy (Stephen Wight), the online editor who will regurgitate a press release quite happily and call it a story. bullet Prior to its Festival opening in Edinburgh, CALEDONIA previewed at Eden Court, Inverness, on the 13th, 14th and 16th of August 2010. The play is an exploration of Scotland's futile attempt at establishing a colony in Panama which saw ships set sail from Leith in 1698.  The mission ended in failure, bankrupted Scotland and led to the Act of Union. bullet And FEELGOOD, Alistair's comedy about the black art of political spin, opens in Australia on 18 March for a month long run.

bullet BBC Radio has commissioned a second series of ELECTRIC INK and the recording will take place this autumn. The comedy starring Robert Lindsay and Alex Jennings is due for transmission towards the end of 2010.
